Attorney Richard Mattox has been practicing law in Indiana for more than 50 years. He is now Of Counsel to the Firm.  His practice has been devoted to litigation matters, including medical malpractice defense and other matters, as well as general practice matters.

I’ve had the good fortune to practice law in Indiana now for many decades.  During this time I have represented many clients in a wide variety of matters, and have served as their lawyer and trusted counsel during many very trying times.

The most gratifying part of being an attorney for me is not only looking back on the successes and help provided to former clients, but toward the future in having the opportunity to serve new client matters.  The matters that I most enjoy are the ones that I am currently working on, and the satisfaction derived from helping clients through difficult times to achieve their objectives.

I especially enjoy the challenge of helping clients develop unique solutions toward their goals.  In many litigation matters, the focus of the attorney should not be on winning at trial, but rather on helping a client reach a successful resolution early in the case.  While lawyers may enjoy and even look forward to trial, most clients prefer to avoid the disruption of a trial, the uncertainty that arises in turning over the outcome of a matter to a jury, and the associated legal fees and costs incurred.

I served as general counsel and trial counsel for Robinson Nugent Inc., a publicly-traded corporation, for over 35 years.  I have had primary responsibility for over 200 jury trials in Federal and state courts.  I have tried cases involving medical malpractice, business litigation (including copyright and trademark infringement and trade secrets matters), securities fraud, insurance bad faith, non-compete covenants, employment discrimination, and claims under section 1983.

If you or your business is in need of legal advice or representation concerning a medical malpractice or litigation matter, please give me a call so that I can meet with you and learn about your matter.  I’m happy to provide the experience that I’ve gained from many years as a lawyer toward helping you achieve your goals.
